Turmeric Tea - (Golden Milk)
Golden Milk is best prepared in the evening, when there is nowhere else to be and bed time is on the horizon. It is in an instant mood and nerve soother that is a cinch to whip up. Turmeric is such an effective anti-inflammatory and wise to consistently have on hand.
2 cups Almond Milk (or Hazelnut, or Flax, or Cashew)
1 Tbsp. Turmeric
1 Tsp. Ground Ginger
1/2 Tsp. Vanilla
1/4 Tsp. Cinnamon
2 Tbsp. Maple Syrup
Heat all ingredients over low heat until well blended. This much turmeric might be too much for you, so starting with less is also an option. Just be careful, turmeric stains terribly, so be prepared for any unexpected spills. You may want your tea sweeter, which is totally acceptable, but try to avoid processed sugars. Otherwise, we are defeating the objective of calming our nerves and our thoughts. Date sugar, clove, nutmeg are also delicious additions. Adjust according to taste and temperature and let the day fall behind you.
